Sundresses & Ciders

With Spring of course comes lighter evenings, warmer weather, flowers and the promise of new starts...and of course, a new wardrobe. I am all over the Spring trends this year - I could wear gingham forever.

I spent Good Friday having a massive Spring Clean of my wardrobe, hiding away all the chunky jumpers and boots and putting my new Spring purchases in pride of place. This gingham midi dress is the pi├Ęce de r├ęsistance of my Spring wardrobe - with Bardot sleeves, a big split up one side, and gorgeous frills around the arms, I think it's quite possibly the most flattering dress I've ever owned - it makes my boobs look bigger and everything else look smaller! I absolutely love it, and paired with my 'Miu Miu'-esque Primark sunglasses, I think there's a real American retro vibe going on. I feel a bit like Lana Del Rey.

I love to spend Spring afternoons in the park or on the beach with friends, having a few snacks and a few too many drinks. (But remember to drink responsibly, kids!) In this dress, I was certainly dressed for the occasion, so my friend Holly and I grabbed my picnic basket, filled it with crisps, sarnies and booze and headed to Preston Park for a lazy afternoon.

In the winter, I'm all about a heavy red wine (with cheese, always), but come spring you can't beat a refreshing, cold cider. Rekorderlig Cider is my brand of choice; they have delicious summery flavours like Mango & Raspberry, Passionfruit and Strawberry & Lime (my favourite) and the sweet, light and fizzy flavours, for me, just encapsulate the taste of Spring - a time for being happy and carefree!

The Swedish are a nation that share my enthusiasm for the season; they celebrate Walpurgis on the last day of April to welcome in the Spring, so what better way to 'cheers' the arrival of my favourite time of year than with a Swedish cider. If I've whet your appetite for a Springtime tipple, share your snaps on Instagram with #StartTheSwedishWay!

This is a collaborative post with Rekorderlig, but they're genuinely my favourite brand of cider (so you can imagine I was pretty excited when they got in touch!) but remember to always drink responsibly - you don't wanna be THAT girl...
