The Shearling Coat

The freezing cold weather appears to have finally arrived but I couldn't be happier, because it means I get to wear my new shearling jacket! I'd been after one since the Autumn, but I'm glad I waited to pick one up as it hadn't been cold enough to bundle up in a big cosy coat until now, and I saved £34 in the January sales. Win.

Shearling jackets may have been this seasons big trend, but they're also a timeless classic. I opted for one in a classic cut, as opposed to a really on-trend style, so that it will last me for many winters to come.

I  loved how ASOS had styled the coat on their site with a simple denim shirt and black jeans, so ordered a denim shirt too to replicate the look. Unfortunately it's a little bit tight around my post-Christmas tummy at the moment, so until it fits I've let the coat do all the talking by just throwing it over a simple cream jumper and jeans combo.

These are the 'Lily' jeans from Oasis; the highwasited ankle grazer. For years I'd been a devoted 'Jade' girl, but the new 'Lily' has stolen the denim-shaped place in my heart. They're just so super soft and stretchy, and I'm loving wearing a higher-waisted style; far more flattering, comfortable, and I can wear cropped jumpers without having to worry about flashing the flab!

  1. Ooo I love the color!! I'm rocking a light camel colored coat with a fleece lining this season! It's definitely worth it, it's too darn cold out! =)
