Look Good, Feel Better - make-up making a difference.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, meaning it's that time of year where we get to indulge in guilt-free purchasing of special pink products whilst raising vital funds for various breast cancer support charities.

But unlike many of the limited edition products that are only around for October, Look Good Feel Better brushes* will raise funds all year round. For every brush sold, an 8 - 12% donation will be made to the charity, enabling them to continue making women with cancer look good and feel better...

Look Good Feel Better support women with cancer by equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to overcome the visible side effects of chemo and radio therapy. Their workshops teach cancer patients how to use skincare and make-up to deal with the changes to their appearance during treatment to help them feel glamorous, confident and in control.

We all know how a good hair day or a slick of your favourite lippy can make you feel invincible - so I can only imagine how important it must be for these women to look and feel their best whilst battling through the toughest time of their lives.

Look Good Feel Better Brushes

from £6.99 at feelunique.com
The range is made up of eleven brushes, a flawless complexion sponge and two brush sets. They have black, wooden handles with silver lettering helpfully labelling each brush, and the pink LGFB logo printed on the silver ferrule. The bristles are super soft and beautifully cut into the perfect shape. Of other brush brands I've used, I'd place the quality of these on par with Real Techniques (so, pretty damn good...). Here's the low-down on my favourite brushes from the range:

Multi Tasking Brush

This is my favourite of the lot, it really is a one-does-all wonder. I particularly love it for buffing in concealer as it leaves a totally flawless, airbrushed finish. It's also great for applying bronzer, blusher or illuminating powder strategically, as the dense bristles leave the product exactly where you place it, and you can then use the Powder Brush or Retractable Bronzer Brush to blend.

Tapered Blending Brush

I've been wearing some lovely autumnal copper eyeshadows recently, and the Tapered Blending Brush is a dream for seamlessly blending shades together. It has super soft, fluffy bristles that are really gentle on the eyelid, allowing you to work the colours into each other for the desired effect.

Retractable Bronzing Brush

This one is perfect for chucking in your handbag for topping up your powder or bronzer on the go, as it's got a lid to protect it and keep it hygenic. It's big, fluffy brush head makes quick work of re-applying powder, and although I don't carry much make-up around with me when I'm out, this brush with my bareMinerals Mineral Veil is essential.

Flawless Complexion Sponge

I haven't got on with make-up sponges in the past, but this cute little pink one is very dense, so doesn't soak up all the product! The pointed tip is tiny, and excellent at reaching the corners of my eyes and around my nose, wheras the large, rounded side is great for quickly covering large areas. I don't use liquid foundation much, but when I do, the finish from this sponge is flawless.
