Khaki nails for Autumn

A military inspired manicure is my favourite nail trend for this autumn - shades of khaki, forest, olive and moss green were seen on the AW15 catwalks at Burberry and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi.

My khaki nail polish of choice is Olive Garden from the new beauty range at Accessorize - and while the colour is lovely, it's the bottle that won me over. A round, multifaceted glass bottle with tall rose gold lid makes for the prettiest nail polish bottle I've ever seen. I want to replace my entire nail polish collection with Accessorize polishes in all 36 colours, purely to display on my shelf.

But onto the polish itself, and the quality definitely lives up to it's beautiful bottle. The brush is fairly wide - not too skinny but not too wide, it covers the nail in 1-2 strokes. Two coats give a solid, opaque colour which lasts a good four - six days (or probably longer, if you have a dishwasher!).

Where a glossy black or deep berry nail can look a bit too dramatic for day time, a khaki polish is bang on trend but with a more laid-back vibe. That doesn't mean it's useless for nights out though. When I've wanted to jazz up my khaki manicure, I've added a shimmer top coat or a metallic gold accent nail.
