What's In My Make-Up Bag?

If you're anything like me, your day-to-day make-up bag tends to have a regular stream of products coming in and going out as exciting new products replace the ones that you get bored of. Yep, my make-up bag never looks the same for very long.

But the other day, I was doing my face with the exact same products for like, the 8th week in a row, and realised that I had a pretty solid make-up bag of core favourites that suit any day, any mood, and REALLY do the job.

What's on my face?

Laura Mercier Secret Concealer in 1.5

This is hands down the most incredible concealer in the world. It erases under-eye dark circles like magic. It works best when applied with my finger, and it's silky texture absorbs into the skin (no caking, no creasing, no greasy shine) leaving only a layer of perfectly-matched colour to brighten and disguised the horrible discoloured bags under my eyes.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Sand

Because I use such a light base, I like to keep a heavy concealer on hand to cover up any blemishes, red patches or shine on my nose. This concealer's creamy consistency reminds me of the Mac Studio Fix foundation. It provides flawless coverage just in the areas that I need it, and it blends in perfectly so that my face doesn't look patchy.

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue in Buttercream*

It's been my go-to base all summer and I'm not about to give it up any time soon. I'm still so in love with it's super-hydrating glowy goodness and light coverage. Plus it's always good to have some SPF on, even when the weather suggests otherwise.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer*

As I am now being deprived of Vitamin C and sunlight, I find that (some days) my skin needs a little extra boost. I've been mixing a little of this Glow Enhancer gel in with my Complexion Rescue to really illuminate my skin with a radiant, lit-from-within glow.

bareMinerals Mineral Veil in Original

This wonderful finishing powder just adds that je ne sais quoi that leaves the skin looking pretty damn flawless (if I can say so myself). The very fine layer of translucent powder kind of 'blends' all the products different textures together, leaving a soft, airbrushed-looking finish.

What's on my eyes?

KIKO Cream Crush Eyeshadow in Pearly Vintage Rose*

This has become my 'everywhere' eyeshadow shade. The neutral-toned rose gold colour compliments my skin tone and has a pretty subtle shimmer. With the texture of a powder/cream hybrid it gives the best of both worlds; the long-lasting colour of a cream and the weightlessness and minimal creasing of a powder.

Silk Oil of Morocco Fibre Brow Enhancer in Light*

I love using this and watching my mousy-grey, somewhat uneven brows be transformed into thick, full, groomed brows. The hair-like brush on fibres act like extensions for your eyebrows. Read my full review to see before and after pictures!

Bourjous Liner Pincaeu in Ultra Black*

A liquid liner that makes light work of winged eyeliner has to be a staple in any make-up bag. This one's slim, high precision brush gets tight to the lashline and the ultra black pigment doesn't fade AT ALL.

NARS Larger Than Life Long-wear Eye Liner in Via Veneto

I love the super creamy texture of this eyeliner when I want a softer, smokey look. It glides on really smoothly on both the lid and lashline with a jet black, budge-proof pigment. It's a twist up eyeliner, but also comes with a built-in, hidden sharpener so that you can sharpen the nib into a soft point.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara

I'm on my fifth or sixth tube of this AMAZING mascara. To see why I love it so much, read my full review

What's on my cheeks & lips?

Nars Blush in Deep Throat

I find pinky/coral blushers best suit my skin tone, and this one's my all time favourite. It's the perfect balance of rose and warm peachy tones that gives me a healthy flush of colour. I find the finish quite unique as it's not shimmery nor matte, but just has a very subtle sheen to it.

Kiko Radiant Touch Creamy Stick Highlighter in Gold

This champagne shade is the perfect highlighter colour -  I much prefer warm highlighters to the cool pinky/silver ones. It creates a gorgeous candlelit illumination and the creamy texture lends itself to create a soft filter-like glow.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Sex Machine

My 'My Lips But Better' shade - a browny toned dusky pink with a matte but very slightly shimmery finish. This was my first Nars lip pencil, but it's long-lasting colour has converted me; my next Space NK visit is going to involve a nice wintery shade!
