Superga opened a brand new store in Brighton yesterday, and a new pair of kicks seemed just the antidote to cure our holiday blues.
The Italian shoe brand's original heritage style, the Classic 2750 lace-up canvas pump, was established in 1911.
104 years later and the Italian brand has found a new home next to Brighton's Clock Tower. Inside we found a range of styles, all inspired by their iconic 2750 shoe (slim soles, flatforms, slip-ons, mid-tops and of course the 2750 itself) available in every colour of the rainbow with some patterened, lace, glitter and metallic options too. Men's options were a little more limited but still offered different styles in a range of more muted colours and a couple of denim styles, which I liked.
We both opted for the iconic Superga style over their newer options, and Rich chose himself a pair of 2750s in burgundy*. I struggled to decide between the bronze metallic pair and the pink/red floral pair*, but eventually decided to go with the latter for now, and go back for the metallic pair for AW15. I'm picturing them with black ripped jeans and a leather jacket...perfect.
Superga offer half sizes, which is great as I'm usually a 4 and a half, but we both found the sizes came up really big and had to go smaller. I went down half a size to a 4 (and they're still a little roomy) and Rich had to go down one whole size. We promptly slipped our new shoes on and headed down to the beach (a little colder than the one we were sat on the day before!) for an ice cream. They're so comfy (ideal for manouvering across the pebbles!) and look so stylish yet effortless.
