Pop of Passion

BareMinerals' latest collection, 'Pop of Passion', to me, is everything summer time make up should be. Lightweight, hydrating and in the prettiest of cheerful shades.

The line, dropping into BareMinerals counters later this month, comprises of three Limited Edition Blush Balms, and a spectrum of eight Lip Oil-Balms ranging from nude, to bright fruity shades, to a deep berry. I've only tried out my pickings from the collection for a few days, but already I'm smitten.

The Lip Oil-Balm* is a lipstick/lipbalm hybrid, housed in a pretty limited edition tube. The shade I've got, 'Nude Passion', is a brownish nude with an incredible shine. Personally, I much prefer balmy tinted products for my lips over ordinary lipsticks, so the melt-in moisture and nourishing combination of natural oils score full points from me. I can tell this is going to be a staple in my beach bag this year - a barely-there shade with super glossy finish, and silky texture providing hydrating relief from the hot summer days - what more do you need?! The Lip Oil-Balms are described as a sheer to medium coverage. Having a nude shade,  I can't really comment on the colour coverage, but I'd imagine the brighter shades to be similar to the he Lip Oil-Balms are described as sheer-to-medium coverage BareMinerals Loud & Clear Lip Sheers that I reviewed here.

The Blush Balm* is unlike any other product I've used before. Unlike cream blushers (which I often find waxy and difficult to blend) it's a thin, silky consistency that feels weightless on the skin. I apply this with my fingers and it effortlessly sinks into the skin, leaving a smooth and even flush of colour and silky feeling complexion. I have the shade 'Posy Passion' which gives that pretty English Rose look. The colour is highly buildable - yesterday I wore one layer in the day time and layered up when we went out in the evening for a bolder pop of colour.

  1. I love the sound of the lipstick, I love a sheer colour that moisturises, perfect for everyday wear! x

    1. It really is, and I'd imagine the brighter colours are great for a wash of colour without looking too 'done'

  2. Both of these sound lovely, especially the Lip Oil Balm. It sounds perfect for summer. I'll definitely have to head to a counter soon to try these out!

  3. Amazing post dear!

  4. These look and sound lovely! I agree with you on cream bronzers feeling waxy. Ugh! ;) Must get my hands on this.
