The Winter Beauty Edit

Between battling the icy cold winds, blasting the central heating, and generally just dealing with the January blues, I've become reliant on these recent additions to my beauty routine to help combat the damage that the harsh winter can have on my hair, skin, lips and nails.

I've been keeping the Glo Minerals Exfoliating Lip Wand* close by, to keep nasty chapped lips at bay. I've never seen anything like this little miracle stick before! It's rough surface of wax microcrystals gently buffs away dry skin, while the jojoba oil softens and moisturises the smooth skin left behind. It's colourless and transforms your lips into the perfect canvas for gloss or lippy, and has a yummy peachy scent.

I love love love Korres lip butters. They're incredibly nourishing and the buttery formula luxuriously melts in to the lips, leaving them smooth, hydrated and glossy. They come in a range of tints (two more of which are currently on their way to me!) but Jasmine is the perfect, day-time, peachy nude with a delicate floral scent.

My hair is brittle and tangle prone at the best of times, so when exposing it to the blustery Arctic-like elements we've been experiencing lately, some deeply nourishing haircare is key. I've fallen in love with Pureology's Hydrate Conditioner - it might have a slightly eye-watering price tag, but the difference in my hair is paramount. It's smoothed, softened and shiny after use and so silky that it's much less prone to knotting. Incredible results aside, it has the most gorgeous, invigorating, peppermint scent. I've stocked up on a second bottle before even finishing the first, because I can tell I'm not going to be able to live without it.

Even when using a magical conditioner, topping up with a good argan oil between washes is essential to keep dryness at a minimum. I tend to switch up hair oil treatments a lot, but I'm currently using Phil Smith Total Treat Transforming Argan Oil*. This is like applying liquid silk to my dry ends, and also smells heavenly - quite sweet and fruity. It leaves me with glossy, nourished hair, and at only £3, it surely justifies the splurge on the Pureology conditioner... Right?!

Rose scented products are my weakness, so no surprises when it comes to my favourite nourishing skincare. Ro's Argan Body Conditioner has the delicious, uplifting Lush Rose Jam smell which lingers on your skin until next bath time. It's a gloriously thick cream that you smother on your skin in the bath or shower, and rinse off, as you would a hair conditioner. There's no need to moisturise after use, as it leaves skin silky soft and nourished.

Korres Wild Rose 24hr Moisturising Brightening Cream is a new addition, but already my all time favourite face cream. Its rich and ultra-hydrating and its brightening qualities are ideal for the dullness that winter can bring to your skin. I use it before bed to allow it to sink into the skin and work it's magic overnight, and wake up with a replenished and glowing complexion. I'm popping the coordinating eye cream and face mask on my birthday wishlist!

Being constantly exposed, my hands are usually the worst to suffer in the cold weather and require some extra TLC. I make sure a luxurious hand cream is always nearby with one in my bag, one on my desk and one on my bedside table. The Caudalie Hand & Nail Creams* are luxuriously silky and comforting. My current favourite is honey scented, Miel De Vigne. I feel there's nothing worse than sore, dry cuticles so OPI Avoplex Cuticle Oil To Go* is a total lifesaver. A few drops massaged into cuticles revitalises my fingertips and the no mess brush applicator makes it perfect for travelling.

That Korres face cream is so lovely isn't it! I was bought the set of that and the eye cream at Christmas and it is just so nourishing. I usually have dreadfully flakey skin come winter, but not this year! I am addicted to rose too so I think I'm going to have to go sniff that lush cream soon...

  2. The lip wand seems interesting! I had the Body Shop buffer one before but found it too harsh. I'm currently using Lush's Mint Julips scrub but its not very portable

  3. The exfoliating lip wand sounds interesting, I really want to try the Korres lip balm.
