The Colour Bug

Since seeing this picture of Lauren Conrad's pretty pink pony, I've been toying with the idea of a pink dip dye, and the little Colour Bug is the perfect way to add a pop of colour to your hair without having to take the plunge. The Colour Bug simply wipes in and washes out again, meaning I can have pink hair on Friday night and be back to normal by Monday morning.

The product was so quick and easy to use, but I'll leave it to the man himself, Kevin Murphy, to explain how to best apply it in this video tutorial!

I prepped my hair with a salt spray to make the pigment stick to my hair and create some movement at the same time. The bug gave a really intense and long lasting colour but the downside was that my hair resembled a pink brillo pad, the product was so drying! I am putting this partly down to the salt spray (which always dries my hair out) and hoping that using a leave in conditioning spray as a base would be a better option as a base.

Now I've caught the colour bug, I want to buy every single colour! I think I got a little over excited though and should have coloured smaller strands leaving more of the blonde to show through - less is probably more! Kevin Murphy's colour bugs also come in purple, neon orange and white (?) but it's the new release that has caught my eye - the Shimmer Bug that gives a glorious golden shine

What do you think of my new look?
