This little tin of summer beauty gorgeousness is packed full of sparkling seashell nudes, bronzed browns and shimmering tropical shades.
I was instantly drawn to the retro, Hawaiian style packaging, presented in a weighty, slimline tin, complete with a large mirror and gives that satisfactory 'snap' shut. It feels special every time I use it, and is the kind of compact makes you want to touch up your make-up twenty times per day just to show it off. As a loyal wearer of neutral eye shadows, these playful shades were initially rather daunting to me, but the colour combinations suggested in the handy little guide sparked my creativity and urged me to try something new and much fresher than my standard brown, smokey eye.
At £29, it may've been little pricey for an impulse purchase, but armed with a tax rebate cheque freshly deposited in the bank, it just was too lovely not to.
The palette is organised around three suggested looks; day, classic and fashion - and the included guide gives step-by-step instructions to achieve these three, summer ready looks.
The 'day' look uses neutral base 'Seashell', with poppy pink 'Plumeria' across the lid and shimmering mid brown 'Cocoa Beach' in the crease. I've never worn pink eye shadow in my life - I've always been certain it'd make my eyes look tired or bruised. But in reality - I love this look! It's so fresh faced and pretty, and ideal for a day at the beach
The 'classic' look is possibly my favourite, shimmery 'Peach Fuzz' in the corner of the eye and brow bone, with 'Coral Crush', a vibrant coral packed with gold glitter, across the lid, and deep brown 'Chocolate Sun' giving a nod back to my trusty brown smoky eye.
'Fashion' uses 'Sunbeam', a glittery gold (which is surprisingly subtle!) illuminates the brow bone, and teal 'Mermaid' and glittery mid-brown 'Toasted Coconut' blended on the lid. Despite it being described as the 'fashion' look, I've found it very wearable for a daytime look too, with neutral cheeks and lips. But, applied over a lid primer, the look is bold and striking for cocktails at the beach bar... (if only)
