Filofax Blogger Challenge - The Original Fashion Decade: Founded in 1921, the Filofax has been a staple, must-have accessory throughout the fashion trends that have come and gone over the decades, and so, Filofax have challenged bloggers to style up an Original Filofax in a photoshoot inspired by their favourite decade of fashion.
As a lover of old-school, classic Hollywood glamour, I jumped at the chance to dress up as a 1950's pin-up girl (ha I wish!) and pose with my gorgeous new Filofax. Mine's 'The Original Filofax' in fuchsia pink - it's made from patent leather and I've already been busy organising it into sections for work, blog planning, and personal. I've only had it a week but I don't know how I ever managed without one!
The fifties are definitely my favourite era of fashion, as the clothes were designed to flatter and accentuate a curvy figure, and the style was fun, sexy and feminine. I tried to emulate the pin-up girl look in my favourite, retro polka-dot sun dress, a (kind of) victory roll in my hair, and classic 50's make up.
I used Benefit' Browzings to create typical, 1950's defined brows, and Soap & Glory's Supercat for the all important winged eyeliner. Instead of the iconic, pin-up red lippy, I went for Youngblood's Dragon Fruit - to match my Filofax of course!
And of course what 50's photo shoot would be complete without a retro bottle of lemonade and a bag of sweets?
All of the participating bloggers' photos (and there are some awesome ones already!) will be posted on Filofax's Facebook page on Friday, where you can vote for your favourite. If I win (or am a runner up) I'll get a number of Filofax's to give away to you guys, so make sure you remember to 'like' my picture!
What's your favourite fashion decade?
Voting is still open for the Cosmo Blog Awards.... pretty please vote for Everything's Rosie to win Best New Beauty Blog by clicking here!
