Fab Fluoro: MSGM On A Budget

Be sure to invest in a good pair of sunglasses this year- you're going to need them! This season is set to bring a flurry of fluoro shades- bright and bold accessories add a third dimension to the monochrome trend and a much needed pop of colour to the all white ensembles of SS13, whilst the fashion risk takers will fully embrace the trend in head to toe neon.

And speaking of bright colours, one particular brand springs to mind- MSGM. The emerging Italian label, designed by Massimo Girogetti, is one of the most exciting fashion new comers, thanks to Girogetti's playful use of bold prints, modern silhouettes and bursts of kaleidoscopic colours, combined with his passion for contemporary art and music. So since it is the season to be bright and beautiful, there's no doubt that Girogetti was in his element when designing the MSGM 2013 Cruise Collection (which you can view here!)
Based around a fresh and exciting colour palette of monochrome and neon hues, a mismatch of printed and textures are key to this collection. Think soft woven fabrics juxtaposed with tweed and leather, with a pleasing clash of ethnic aztec prints, bold humbug stripes and, of course, no summer collection would be complete without a splash of florals. The collection features strong silhouettes in the form of tweed shift dresses and boxy jackets alongside some soft, feminine blouses and flirty skater dresses.

I love the entire collection, the feminine florals mixed with masculine boxy shapes and the mix of two of the seasons trends. If I happen to win the Euromillions, I'll be filling my whole wardrobe with MSGM for SS13, but in the meantime I've found some suitable high street alternatives that are slightly more in my price range...

What do you think of the neon and monochrome trends this season? Will you be wearing them together, separately or not at all? Do you like MSGM's cruise collection, or are you a high street girl at heart?
