I've been spending most of this week so far looking at Valentine's nail art designs on Pintrest, but after far too much of these evening being spent on failed attempts, I gave up and went for a pink, glittery nail polish instead. If you can't make your nails look like cupcake frosting on Valentine's Day, then when can you?
'Topping Lane' is part of Nails Inc's Sprinkles collection, a range of four pastel shades, jam packed with contrasting specks of glitter, designed to look like sprinkles on a cupcake! Cute! My Mum bought this one for me last summer, but isn't it just perfect for girly, flirty Valentine's Day nails?!
What I really love about this polish (aside from it being pink and glitter, of course) is that the sparkle is fairly subtle due to the slightly matte quality of the glitter particles, and gives more of a speckled effect than full on, in-your-face, blinding-your-date-with-your-nails glitter! I've used two coats at the moment for maximum impact, but it also works well if you use one coat over the top of a plain pastel pink to give a more sparse, toned down look. Orly's 'Everything's Rosy' is a great colour match, and one of my all time favourite manis is 'Everything's Rosy' with 'Topping Lane' on an accent nail.
Thank you to my little assistant, Chloe the bear for helping with these photos! She was my Valentine's gift from last year :-)
Happy Valentine's Day!
