Hair Story: Happily Ever After

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen that I have recently been trying everything from lightening shampoo to fairy liquid to try and lift the colour of my hair after somewhat of an ombre disaster that left me resembling a Duracell battery... Chocolate brown roots and over processed, yellow blonde ends. Ok, well it wasn't quite that terrible, but it was a million miles away from the golden, sun kissed dip dye I had wanted, and I left the salon (which shall remain unnamed on the cruel and unforgiving Internet, as I have had lovely highlights from there before) with a dent in my confidence. I've always been a blondie, and I didn't feel like myself! So, after having to painstakingly endure looking in the mirror every day for two months, I was absolutely thrilled when Kate from Trevor Sorbie in Brighton offered to put me out of my misery.

During my consultation, I showed Kate pictures (mainly of my girl crush, Lauren Conrad) of how I wanted my hair, and then she picked colours that would perfectly compliment my eyes and skin tone and talked me through exactly what she was going to do to soften and lighten the harsh contrasts of my hair. She also paid a lot of care and attention to improving the condition of my hair, and prepped it with a protein treatment to reduce chemical damage. Whilst she was applying my highlights, I was certainly in excellent company and conversation; I was given a full on science lesson about hair and picked up a wealth of useful tips and tricks to keep your hair healthy (my favourite: always drench your hair in clean water before swimming. The clean water will saturate the hair leaving no room for the chlorine to get in and cause damage) and Kate told me all about the hairdressing awards she had won and celebs she had worked with.

I was then treated to a deep conditioning treatment, trim and blow dry, and my hair already feels in much better condition...after my next treatment in a few weeks time, it should feel as good as new! I'm so pleased with how it turned out and can honestly say that I have never loved my hair as much! Kate's expert knowledge ensured that the colour was perfectly tailored for my colouring and I love how natural and classy it looks, but still with a subtle hint of the on-trend dip dye.

.

I would recommend the Brighton Trevor Sorbie Salon to anyone and everyone! It's a lovely salon with really friendly staff and highly skilled stylists (in fact, I learned how intense the training program is and can guarantee that every member of staff is the cream of the crop in the hairdressing world and are only employed if they can impress Trevor Sorbie himself!). I walked out of the salon feeling a million dollars, with a massive smile on my face, and finally feeling like me again!!
