Just before Christmas, I went up to London to help out at the Oasis SS13 Press Day- and of course take a sneaky peak at the up and coming trends for 2013 and the glamorous new collections. Escaping from the cold and windy streets of London, I stepped into a tranquil little oasis (see what I did there?!) where no detail had been spared to create an idyllic summer meadow. Fresh, wild flowers were scattered around the entire room, with pretty floral kites floating from the ceiling and even bird song sound effects!
Although the showroom itself was breathtaking, it was of course the stunning collections that really stole the show. An exciting array of fresh colour palettes, pretty prints and bold accessories were dotted around the meadow, giving a little taste of what trends to expect in the New Year. I particularly love the cute matching floral shorts and jackets, very Caroline Flack!
So here's the low down:
Unsurprisingly, florals will be returning once again this Spring/Summer, featured on a light, fresh colour palette with pops of hot pink, vintage rose prints and butterfly patterns. Unashamedly feminine, this collection features plenty of mix & match separates to play around with the pretty prints.
Neon brights are also back with a vengeance this year, set to be a massive trend for 2013! Think lace and scuba with Aztec inspired patterns in fluoro pinks, oranges and yellows. I can't wait for the Aztec(ish) dress to hit stores later this year, and I will definitely be getting my paws on some of those fabulous accessories. The colourful necklaces and patent bags are the perfect way to instantly inject the neon trend into your look, even if you don't feel confident going all out in head-to-toe fluoro!
The military trend looks set to stay in style from winter through to spring, but with a light, fresh update- muted, pastel khaki and grey alongside softened camouflage prints.
Monochrome is also set to return to our summer wardrobes in bold, humbug stripes.
I had such a lovely day and even left with my own little poise of freshly picked flowers.
What do you think of the fashion forecast for the coming summer months? Which trends will you be picking up first? Let me know in the comments!
