This week I wanted my nails to be fairly neutral and versatile to match outfits, but with a bit of sparkle to cheer up this awful grey, rainy weather. I took full advantage of the 3 for 2 in Boots at the weekend (which ended up being 9 for 6 instead!) and treated myself to a few new Barry M polishes along with my toothpaste and shampoo!
Barry M 'Yellow Topaz' is a bright yellow gold glitter, with fine sparkles and big chunks of holographic gold glitter. There are hints of rainbow flecks and silver, which I like as it still compliments my silver jewellery. As I wanted something a bit more toned down than a full on glitter-bomb, I created a gradient effect with the gold glitter over a nude Nails Inc polish. It was really easy to do- I just applied a block nude base, then one layer of 'Yellow Topaz' from mid way down the nail, two layers on the bottom third, and three to four layers right on the tip.
What do you think? Are you addicted to a bit of sparkle, or are you a plain polish kinda girl?
