The Nail Files: Indian Ocean

Model's Own recently added some new shimmering shades to their Beetlejuice collection, one of which is a sheer baby blue with hints of iridescent pale pink and lilac, called Indian Ocean. Worn alone, it is a very sheer consistency, and the colour you see in the bottle can only be achieved by using a crème pastel blue base underneath. (Barry M's Blue Moon is good for this).

I decided to pick out the pinky tones in the shimmer and see what it looked like layered over a different colour, and ended up choosing GOSH Wild Lilac. I really love the results as Indian Ocean blended perfectly in with the lilac to achieve a gorgeous sparkly purple.

What do you think? Have you tried any of the Beetlejuice collection? I like the look of the black/emerald green one!

  4. The blue is lovely on its own but together they are just beautiful. You could make your own colour and become a nail varnish entrepreneur!

  7. I LOVE Indian Ocean! On it's own it's very disappointing but layered over other colours it's so beautiful! I want to pick up another bottle of it because I'm worried they will stop selling this collection once summer is over!

  9. Love this colour you've created! I've seen Indian Ocean in Boots a few times but always been a bit hesitant as haven't heard that it wears great on its own but with a shade underneath - it clearly looks fab! xCx
