Tuxedo Nails

I've finally finished all my exams and assignments for the first semester, so have spent today doing some shopping with Matt and having some well deserved me time! This afternoon, I've been playing with my new Andrea Fulerton Nail Art Pen to create the 'Tuxedo Nails' that the gorgeous Zooey Deschanel rocked at the Golden Globes.

I used OPI's Alpine Snow as a base. I often find white polishes are really streaky and hard to achieve an opaque coverage, so I bought a mini bottle of OPI to test out (from eBay). It's really good and only needs two thin coats, and it dries quickly too! To do the black tips, I used the brush part of the nail art pen and then the pen nib to draw the bow ties and the buttons. To draw the bow ties, I drew a cross, and then filled in the triangle bits at the sides... Apologies for not having step by step pictures, but I didn't think they would turn out well enough to blog about! It was actually quite easy to do and the pen was really easy to use. It is taking ages to dry though and I smudged my baby finger with the top coat :(

What to you think? Post me links to any of your nail art pictures, I'd love to have a look and grab some inspiration!
By the way- there's only two days left to enter my give away!
