Benefit Haul

Every time I pass the Benefit counter, I can never resist a sneaky peek! With a load of Christmas money, and my gorgeous Mac Wonder Woman blusher smashed to pieces (so upset!) I was up for buying a new blusher, but I  ended up with a whole lot more... oopsieee!

First up, I couldn't resist getting the POREfessional pro balm. The lovely sales assistant applied this to only one half of my face first, and the difference was quite amazing. It really does work wonders at minimizing the appearance of pores and also makes your skin feel really silky smooth. It has a slight tint to it, so can be used on its own, or as a primer underneath a foundation. The first time I used this Matt commented on how nice my skin looked... and he never notices anything, so that's saying something!

Secondly, I finally got my hands on the Girl Meets Pearl liquid pearl for face. This can be used both as a highlighter and all over the face, mixed in with your foundation if you prefer a more dewy look. It's a fabulous pick-me-up product to keep in your handbag to brighten up your face through out the day. I had previously been using Benefit's High Beam highlighter, but I much prefer this one as it's a kind of golden, peachy shimmer and is much more subtle than the pearly white of High Beam. I love the packaging of this too, it's quite heavy and feels good quality, and the twisty dispenser is great because it eliminates wastage.

Finally, I got a new blusher, 'Bella Bamba' and it's just gorgeous! Benefit have redesigned their box'o'powders, and the new look is definitely an improvement! The lid now flips up, instead of coming off, and there's even a little mirror inside the lid! The brush that comes with it seems to be of a better quality than the ones that came in the old style boxes, although I do prefer to use my Mac blusher brush. They are handy for when you're on the go though. The colour of the blush itself is described as '3D pink...brightening, sculpting and defining'... it's a warm toned pink shimmer with a hint of gold. I thought it would be a lot brighter, but it's actually quite a subtle glow with just a light sweep. The colour does build up well for a bolder pop of pink.

  4. I use the Porefessional, I think its amazing! I've not used girl meets pearl, but I use 'that gal' which is less pearlescent, and also worth trying, (it smells lovely!)
Hope this is the start of a beautiful friendship for you and Benefit!
